Notes About the Personal Pelvic Viewers™

Types of Personal Pelvic Viewers (PPV’s)

There are three types:

Acrylic Material

The PPV’s are made from acrylic plastic material. These PPV’s are fabricated from thick-walled cast acrylic tubes with transparent walls. They were machined and then carefully polished so that all the surfaces are optically clear and very smooth. All surfaces are carefully rounded. The PPV’s can be scratched, so please be careful!

General Comments on Cleaning the PPV’s

Please, please, do NOT use any alcohol or any other solvents on the PPV’s. Such chemicals can cause “crazing” of the optically polished surfaces. “Crazing” is the process of causing microscopic stress fractures (which are easy to see). Do NOT use any PPV™ with such crazing. Most hand washing soaps have chemicals that will craze the optically polished surfaces of your PPV. For example, “Ajax” “Antibacterial Orange” with a “Super Degreaser” can destroy the optical surface of your PPV. Most soaps with “degreasers” can damage the PPV. So, please only use Ivory Soap if you must wash the PPV with soap.

After the manufacturing process, the PPV’s are first washed with Ivory Soap; then run through an automatic dishwasher; thereafter placed into the re-usable package with clean examination gloves; and the package is then stapled closed. If any spots appear on the PPV, these are “dishwasher spots” of the type found on transparent drinking glasses following a dishwashing cycle. Of course, these new PPV’s have never been used prior to sale to you.

Cleaning Instructions for Your Own Personal Use Include the Following Different Options:

  1. Rinse in warm (not hot) water after use.
  2. Hand wash with the very mild hand washing soap called Ivory “Ultra” “Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid”. This will not damage your PPV.
  3. To further disinfect after “A” or “B” above, rinse the PPV off with a standard solution of hydrogen peroxide (3%) found in drugstores. This is a disinfectant, and the hydrogen peroxide does not seem to cause any damage to the PPV’s. If you find otherwise, please let us know. A soft paper towel can be used to dry off the PPV.
  4. To further disinfect after “A” or “B” above, place the PPV into an automatic dishwasher. Use any type of soap specifically designed for automatic dishwashers. Let the PPV dry and cool off before removing it from the automatic dishwasher. Large changes in temperature can cause damage to the optical surfaces of the PPV.
  5. After “A” or “B” above, and if you wish, you can sterilize the PPV by boiling in water as follows. Fill a large pan with cold water. Place the PPV into it. Bring the water to a rolling boil on a stove. Boil for 20 minutes or longer if you wish. Turn off the heating element, and let the pan, water and PPV cool off together. Again, large changes in temperature can cause damage to the optical surface of the PPV. Please do NOT take the PPV out of the hot pan of water and run cold water over it from the tap.

Other Notes on Uses -

Please do NOT insert the PPV after becoming sexually excited. The vagina constricts or “clamps down” in the excitement phase during the sexual cycle of a female. So, please be relaxed, and unstimulated before attempting to insert the PPV. Please see the document entitled "Instructions for Use of the Slotted Personal Pelvic Viewer™".

Do NOT insert the PPV if it causes any pain at any time for any reason.

Many women have found that following insertion into the vagina, that they may successfully and comfortably view their entire sexual cycle with the PPV in place. However, if any pain develops for any reason, the PPV should be removed immediately.

So far, we have not found any standard sexual lubricant that has damaged any PPV. However, if you find otherwise, please let us know.

We care about our customers, and please let us know about your experiences with the PPV. This version is dated August 2, 2007, and this document will be periodically updated as needed. Thank you!!
